Alpha Pi Phi is a sisterhood based upon Love, Loyalty, and Friendship.
Since our founding, we have held a zero tolerance policy regarding hazing.
Alpha Pi Phi Sorority defines activities of hazing as any mental or physical requirement, request, or obligation placed upon any person (e.g. a AMPP, Active, Alum, Honorary member or Guest) which:
1. Could be harmful to the health and/or welfare of the person. This includes but is not limited to:
2. Is degrading to the individual involved, which would be defined by:
3. Violates any federal, provincial, or municipal laws or post-secondary institution policy
The prevention and elimination of hazing is the responsibility of each individual member of Alpha Pi Phi Sorority including AMPP's, Active, Alum, Honorary members.
All Chapters host an anti-hazing seminar each semester. We have contracted with
StopHazing to review internal documents and lead a research based anti-hazing workshop with all of our members.
Any member whose actions and/or attitudes that are not in accordance with this Policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in probation or termination of membership. Additionally, acts of hazing can result in civil and criminal liability on the part of those individuals engaged in such activities.
Alpha Pi Phi expects every member to report any and all instances of hazing or discrimination by emailing the International Co-Vice Presidents of Standards and Risk Management immediately, and no later than 48 hours after the incident occurred.
Alpha Pi Phi respectfully acknowledges that we convene and recruit on the traditional homelands of Turtle Island, home to thousands of Indigenous nations.
